Analía Morales & Gabriel Ponce seminar — Musicality for Social Dancing (3 hours) Mon 20 Apr, 7:00–10:00 pm ($95)
A deep-dive evening with Analía & Gabriel for intermediate/experienced social dancers who want to dance with the music and with their partner. You’ll refine connection and walk, explore how to interpret D’Arienzo, Di Sarli and Pugliese, and learn how two partners can share ideas, embellish tastefully, and co-create a dance that still fits comfortably inside a busy ronda. We suggest you team up as couples for this seminar. Let us know if you do not have a partner.
Block 1 — Embrace, Axis and Communication (50 min)
Refining the Hip Connection System, using the supporting leg as the engine of movement, and developing a projected walk with clear pauses and intention so leader and follower can read each other with ease.
Block 2 — Musicality and Personal Style (50 min)
Working with musical phrasing and breathing, interpreting D’Arienzo, Di Sarli and Pugliese, and adding elegant, organic embellishments within short sequences that travel smoothly around the ronda.
Block 3 — Building the Shared Dance (50 min)
Placing your tango cleanly in the ronda, creating compact micro-sequences for crowded floors, and developing musical and physical empathy so both partners can propose ideas and meet in the middle.
