Murat WS2: Technique meets musicality This workshop is suited to intermediate and above level. The workshop will focus on integrating your technique with musicality with focus on melody and legato (i.e. dance smoothly with connection). All single bookings will go onto a waiting list. We will select the first-booked even number of leaders and followers for the workshop. This will ensure a follower/leader balance. (You will be refunded if you miss out). Who is Murat Erdemsel? Starting his tango journey in Istanbul in 1997, Murat is known for his flair and musicality and has become a tango visionary on the world stage with an insightful, thorough, and analytical understanding of the dance. Murat’s background in fine arts and music provides him with the perfect blend of senses for the movement of bodies through time and space. This will be a stimulating, thought provoking and wonderful tango experience when Murat Erdemsel visits us again in 20-21-22 (Tue/Wed/Thu) September 2022. Murat’s teaching philosophy is to offer students valuable tools to enable them to take control of their own personal growth. He is warm, attentive, entertaining, and accessible to students. He successfully combines technical and sensory exercises with fundamental concepts that lead to all the challenging possibilities of improvisation and expression. There will be 3 workshops followed by tango games. The first workshop is for all levels and does not require a leader/follower balance. The 2nd and 3rd workshop is suited for intermediate and advanced levels. For workshops 2 and 3, we will keep the ratio of leaders/followers in classes equal. If numbers are out of balance, you may go onto a waiting list unless you enrol as a couple or now. If you are on a waiting list, you will be informed about acceptance (ensuring partner balance). You will be refunded if you miss out. During the workshops we’ll change partners regularly. If you enroll as a single, you are expected to swap each rotation. If you enroll as a couple, you can stay together or swap around.
